[ Course Etiquette ]
- All players must have a set of clubs and be correctly attired.
- If shorts are worn they must be of reasonable length and
long golf or sports socks must be worn.
- Give way to greens staff at all times.
- No one should move, talk or stand directly behind the ball or
hole when a player is addressing the ball or making a stroke.
- The player who has the honour should be allowed to play before
his opponent or fellow competitor tees the ball.
- No player should play until the players in front are out
of range.
- In the interest of all, players should play without delay.
- Players searching for a ball should allow other players coming
up to pass them; they should signal to the players following them
to pass, and should not continue their play until those players
have passed and out of range.
- Before leaving a bunker, a player should carefully fill up holes
made therein.
- Players should ensure that, when dropping bags or the flagstick,
no damage is done to the putting green and that neither they nor
their caddies damage the hole by standing close to the hole or
in handling the flagstick.
- The flag should be properly replaced in the hole before the
players leave the putting green.
- When the result of a hole has been determined, players should
immediately leave the putting green.
- All players are expected to know and observe the etiquette and
rules of the game of golf. It is the responsibility of the lowest
handicapped player in any match to see they are carried out.
- Where signs are displayed to call up please call up to speed
up play.
[ Priority on the
Course ]
- Singles, Threesomes and Foursomes shall have precedence over
and be entitled to pass any other kind of match.
- A single player has no standing, and should give way to a match
of any kind.
- Any match playing a whole round is entitled to pass a match
playing a shorter round. If a match fails to keep its place on
the course and loses more than one clear hole on the players in
front, it should allow the match following to pass.
- Members are reminded of the penalty incurred under rule 6-7
for undue delay.
- All players are expected to know and observe the etiquette and
rules of the game of golf.
- It is the duty and responsibility of the lowest handicapped
players in the match to see that his fellow competitors replace
all divots, smooth out all footmarks in bunkers, and observe the
etiquette and rules of the game.
